MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Dobyns-Bennett’s Sasha Neglia added two new records to her trophy case over the weekend.

The D-B sophomore broke the meet records in the 3,200 meters on Saturday and the 1,600 on Friday at the Beach Run Invitational. She posted a time of 10:45.57 in the 3,200 and a 5:03.43 in the 1,600.

Dobyns-Bennett’s girls finished second in the team competition with 85 points. Nansemond River won the title with 98 points.

In addition to Neglia’s record-setting performances, D-B also picked up wins from Hannah Watson in the high jump with a personal best 5-2 and from the 4x800 relay team comprising Ashtyn Hagood, Julianna McReynolds, Morgan Cordell and Meg Davis.

D-B’s Lily Griffith, also with a leap of 5-2, finished second behind teammate Watson in the high jump. Griffith was runner-up because her mark came on her third jump attempt.

The Lady Indians’ 4x200 relay team of Kiley Wood, Natalie Bates, Aubree Henger and Brit Griffith finished fourth with a time of 1:49.12.

D-B secured two more fourth-place finishes: Davis in the 800 with a time a 2:31.04 and Natalie Donahue in the pole vault with a mark of 9-0.

The Tribe boys finished third in the team competition with 54 points. Waccamaw won the event with 68.5 points, ahead of Nansemond River’s 60.33.

D-B’s Tanner Henry won the high jump at 6-2, and Sam Cleek’s jump of 5-10 was good enough for third in the event.

The Indians’ 4x200 relay team of Jeamy Williams, Azis Dunn, Dee Williams and Kam Lee placed second with a time of 1:32.27.

D-B also picked up a second-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 41-2 from Jarah Brown.

Brown, Caleb Davis, Jeamy Williams and Dee Williams finished in 3:33.23 to take third in the 4x400 relay, and Cleek cleared 11-0 to place third in the pole vault.
