“Ever since Mike got in the race, he said he was going to prioritize states that don’t usually get a lot of attention, including Tennessee,” said Holly McCall, the Tennessee communications director for Bloomberg’s campaign. “Let’s face it: Presidential candidates don’t usually spend a lot of time in our state — in any part of the state — but if they do, they come to Nashville or Memphis.
“I think, honestly, it says a lot about who Mike Bloomberg is and how he’s running his campaign that he’s taking his time to come to the Tri-Cities.”
The rally will be held from 5:45-7:20 p.m. at Tri-Cities Airport, 350 Aviation Drive. It will be Bloomberg’s third rally in Tennessee on Friday, with the others taking place in Memphis and Clarksville earlier in the day. Bloomberg, the multibillionaire CEO of Bloomberg LP, has hired more than 40 staffers in the state, and has seven campaign offices in Tennessee, including one in Johnson City, as he makes a push to capture some of the state’s 64 delegates.
