BRISTOL, Tenn. — The Pinty’s U.S. Short Track Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway has been rescheduled for Sept. 26 because of the coronavirus pandemic, track officials announced Tuesday.

“With all that has transpired over the past couple of weeks, we felt it was best to move this event to an open date later in the year,” said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager of BMS. “We know how important this event is to the rising stars who compete in these series and we wanted to make sure they have plenty of time to adjust their schedules for the fall.”

The event was originally scheduled for the end of May.

Presented by Vore’s Welding and Steel, the one-day show will showcase four classes, headlined by the Super Late Models. The event will also feature Pro Late Models, Street Stocks and Compacts.

Competitors will be allowed open practice opportunities on Friday, Sept. 25, followed by practice, qualifying and racing that Saturday.
