MOORESBURG — A Hawkins County woman was charged with misuse of 911 Sunday afternoon after she allegedly called 911 and asked for a helicopter, claiming country star Blake Shelton was trying to kill her and Dolly Parton was coming over that night.

Mary Linnie Myers, 48, 1000 Robbins Lane, Mooresburg, also reportedly stated that she is dating singer/songwriter Eric Church.

Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jessie Williams stated in his report that there was a bottle of vodka on the table of the camper where Myers resides.

Around 3 p.m. Sunday, Williams responded to a 911 request for a helicopter. Upon his arrival, Williams reportedly found Myers to have slurred speech, be unsteady on her feet and have an odor of alcohol coming from her.

“I asked Mary for the reason she called 911, and she said that Blake Shelton was trying to kill her,” Williams stated in his report. “Mary told me there was a man in the woods with a knife. Mary said the she and Eric Church are dating, and Dolly Parton was flying in to see her tonight.”

HCSO Deputy Blake Zion had responded to Myers’ residence at 10 a.m. Sunday morning with the same complaint that Shelton was trying to kill her.

Williams said he didn’t observe anyone or anything in or around her camper that would cause immediate danger to Myers.

She was scheduled for arraignment Monday in Sessions Court.
