According to a Friday press release from the Scott County Sheriff's Office, the violence occurred multiple times from May to July, and on at least one occasion left the victim unconscious. Nathan Frazier, 35, allegedly beat and strangled the woman and held her captive.
Following a police investigation, warrants were obtained for assault and battery, abduction, felony strangulation and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. Frazier, 545 Gouldmans Branch Lane, Hiltons, was arrested on Thursday.
Police say an investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending.
