WISE — Friday evening rains turned to a sunny Saturday for the Remote Area Medical clinic at the Wise County Fairgrounds. Paula Hill, clinical director for event co-sponsor The Health Wagon, said Saturday’s turnout topped 1,000 patients.
Dental teams from Howard University and the University of Buffalo kept busy with relays of patients in the clinic exam chairs, and the clinic’s eye care station also saw steady crowds throughout the day.
Hill said that the 100,000th patient in the clinic’s 20-year history is expected to enter the Wise County Fairgrounds Sunday.
Clinic gates open 6 a.m. Sunday, and RAM is expected to wrap up services around 3 p.m.
