Located at 4444 West Stone Drive in Kingsport, Allandale provides a beautiful backdrop to the annual meet which is open to all vehicles. A $2 spectator donation for persons over 12 is requested.
This year’s featured vehicles are trucks of all types, vintages and descriptions. Trucks may be displayed on the grounds around the mansion.
Dash plaques and awards will feature a 1935 Ford street rod pickup owned by Bruce Roberts, a stock 1994 Ford Lightning pickup owned by Tim Duncan, and a concours 1924 Franklin owned by Lana Sergeant and Judy Williams.
Vehicle registration ($15 per vehicle) is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the day of the show. The first 200 registrants will receive a commemorative dash plaque. Cash awards will be placed inside random registration packets. The meet will award top 25 plaques voted on by vehicle owners, and 13 special plaques including best truck and club participation. The awards’ ceremony will begin at 4 p.m.
Limited-edition Allandale T-shirts, designed by legendary artist Jim Caswell and recognized as collector items, will be available for purchase.
Concessions prepared by the Sullivan South High School Band Boosters will be available throughout the show. Refreshment purchases will help facilitate the band’s ability to travel to away South football games and other events requiring transportation.
The award-winning Sullivan South Air Force JROTC will also be hand to accept spectator donations, manage parking and assist with show logistics. A portion of the car show proceeds will support their fundraising efforts. The cadets will also present a color guard at noon as the show officially opens with the Pledge of Allegiance.
