Prep roundup: Eastside takes 3-1 volleyball victory over Wise Central

COEBURN — Anna Whited led the way for Eastside with 16 kills, five aces and 13 digs as the Spartans took down Wise Central in four sets at home in a nonconference tilt.

Leci Sensabaugh chipped in with 15 service points and five aces, while Kaylee Yates had four blocks to aid Eastside in the win.

Hannah McAmis had 24 digs for the Warriors in the loss. Caitlin Glover had 19 assists and Olivia Basham had 11 kills.

Sullivan South 3, Elizabethton 2

ELIZABETHTON — Abbey Jayne had 27 kills, 16 digs, two blocks and two aces in Sullivan South’s win.

Makkenzie Compton had 28 assists and 14 digs, while Rachel Miller ended with 13 digs in the 24-26, 25-21, 15-25, 25-17, 15-7 victory. Olivia DeLung accounted for eight kills, nine digs and 18 assists. Allie Jordan and McKenzie Littleton each had nine digs.

Volunteer 3, Greenville 0

Raenah Barton had 11 kills as Volunteer defeated Greeneville 25-23, 25-14, 25-14. Jersey Wines had 10 kills and 11 digs. Sydney Dobbs had a team-best 19 assists and Rylee Wines accounted for a dozen assists.

Patrick Henry 3, Grundy 0

GLADE SPRING — Avery Maiden had 10 assists five aces, six kills and three digs, as Patrick Henry defeated Grundy in three sets in a home nonconference clash.

Ella Maiden chipped in with 10 kills and three blocks, and Abigail Belcher had eight kills and a block.

Skylar Stiltner had 13 digs for Grundy, while Kennedi Plymal and Jessi Looney each had five kills. Maddie Yates and Alexa Fisher had seven assists each.

Lebanon 3, John Battle 1

LEBANON — Kara Long had 11 kills and 23 digs, and Averie Price had 20 kills and six aces, as Lebanon topped John Battle in a home nonconference contest.

Jaylee Stanley had 40 assists, and Kaydn Burke had six kills to help out in the victory.

Bethany Smith had 34 digs, Keelie Pippin had 18 assists and Emma Harmon had 13 kills and two blocks for John Battle.

Girls soccer

Science Hill 4, Morristown West 1

Sydney Jordan had a hat trick to lead Science Hill to a  win at Morristown West. Parker Fleenor accounted for the Lady Hilltoppers’ other goal, in which Jordan assisted. Savannah Fields and Claire Roundtree also had assists for Science Hill.

Daniel Boone 2, Volunteer 1

Daniel Boone’s Madeline Runnels scored off a cross by Shrya Phan in the 59th minute to lift the Lady ’Blazers to a win over Volunteer. Runnels scored both goals for the Lady ’Blazers. The first came on a breakaway and her boot went off the fingertips of the Volunteer keeper into the corner of the goal. Alyssa Chappell scored a tying goal for the Lady Falcons.

Sullivan Central 3, Morristown East 1

Lauren Hilton scored twice and Rylie Patrick once as Sullivan Central took a win at Morristown East. The Lady Cougars outshot the Lady Hurricanes 19-5 and Kylie Harrison had two saves.
