Sullivan Central soccer thumps Unicoi County

ERWIN — Noemi Morales scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Sullivan Central girls soccer team to an 8-0 rout of Unicoi County on Tuesday.

Loren Hensley also netted a pair of goals for the Lady Cougars, who led 5-0 at intermission. Rylie Patrick scored a goal and recorded three assists, and Jaelyn West and Adeline Hensley had the other goals for Central. Jessie Lange, Chipi Hamelryck and Gracie Harrington had assists.

Central outshot the Lady Blue Devils 31-0 and had a 13-0 advantage in corner kicks.

TENNESSEE HIGH 7, DAVID CROCKETT 3

JONESBOROUGH — Rylie Britton scored a quick goal to put the Lady Pioneers out front before the Lady Vikings reeled off five consecutive goals.

Londyn Horton scored off a penalty kick and Britton scored off an assist by Lauren Myers for the other Crockett goals.

Volleyball

SULLIVAN SOUTH 3, CHUCKEY-DOAK 0

AFTON — The Lady Rebels romped to a 25-8, 25-9, 25-12 road victory over the Lady Knights.

Katie Watson and Rachel Miller led the way with six kills each. Izzy Musick followed with five.

Molly Williams finished with seven digs and Olivia Delung accounted for 12 assists.

SULLIVAN CENTRAL 3, JOHNSON COUNTY 0

MOUNTAIN CITY — Elaina Vaughan had 11 kills, two blocks and two aces, while Taylor Wilson totaled nine kills and five aces as the Lady Cougars rolled to a 25-13, 25-17, 25-6 win over the Lady Longhorns.

Laiken Hoback had 22 assists, while Lexi Cyr had four kills and three assists. Parker Hurd led the defense with four digs.

DANIEL BOONE 3, VOLUNTEER 0

CHURCH HILL — Mackenzie Sweigart and Jaycie Jenkins each finished with 14 kills and 10 digs in the Lady Trailblazers’ 25-14, 25-21, 25-14 Big 6 Conference win over the Lady Falcons.

Jenkins also served three aces, and McKenna Dietz led with 36 assists and 13 digs. Greyson Stevens totaled seven kills and four blocks. Riley Brinn accounted for four kills and 10 digs, and Dannah Persinger’s numbers included three kills, three blocks and two aces. Laken Jones reached for five digs.

ELIZABETHTON 3, SULLIVAN EAST 0

ELIZABETHTON — Behind 15 kills, 11 digs and eight assists from Morgan Smith, the Lady Cyclones logged a 25-17, 25-20, 25-20 Three Rivers Conference victory.

Smith finished with a .500 hitting percentage. Teammates Hannah Boster and Brittany Kitchens registered six and five kills, respectively, with Boster adding four blocks. Josie Lyons crafted a 17-assist, five-dig performance.

Elizabethton’s Deanna Hull totaled 21 digs. Mattie Davis had five blocks and Kaitlyn Bailey four.

WISE CENTRAL 3, RIDGEVIEW 0

NORTON — Hannah McAmis had 22 digs, Caitlin Glover came up with 26 assists and the Lady Warriors sped to a Mountain 7 District sweep of the visiting Lady Wolfpack, 25-18, 25-21, 25-16.

Rylee Duncan had 11 digs and Olivia Sanders and Gabby Hall combined for 17 kills for Central.

Alyssa Price tallied 11 assists, Brooke Frazier had 18 digs with three kills and Haley Mullins slammed eight kills for Ridgeview.

CHILHOWIE 3, CASTLEWOOD 1

CHILHOWIE — Caitlin Pierce recorded 17 kills, eight kills and three aces in the Lady Warriors’ 13-25, 25-22, 25-10, 25-17 nondistrict victory.

Anneliese White had three kills and an ace for the Lady Blue Devils.
