Hostage held at gunpoint released after 6-hour standoff in Johnson City

A Limestone man held police at bay with a hostage for six hours at a south Johnson City convenience market Sunday night and Monday morning, police said.

Hostage negotiators eventually convinced Marc Kristopher Skeen, 35, to release the hostage and disarm himself.

The standoff began about 8:40 p.m. Sunday when police responded to a robbery report at the Marathon convenience store, 3211 S. Roan St. Skeen was holding an employee at gunpoint.
