ROGERSVILLE — Two of four suspects accused of using Facebook to lure a man to an apartment last year to be robbed under the pretext of a romantic connection were each sentenced to three-year prison terms in Hawkins County Criminal Court on June 20.

Travis Shane Shattuck, 31, 154 Cedar Lane, Rogersville, and Todd Andrew Caswell, 29, 117 Taylor Lane, Rogersville, pleaded guilty before Judge John Dugger to one count each of facilitation of robbery with two or more persons.

Both will be eligible for parole after serving 30 percent of their sentences, and a restitution order is pending. Caswell was ordered to pay $1,444 in fines and fees, and Shattuck was ordered to pay $1,690 in fines and fees.

They were originally charged with Class B felony robbery, which could have netted each of them a sentence of 8-12 years.

Last Halloween, Haley Celeste Douthat, 24, 101 Seals Road, Rogersville, allegedly used communications on Facebook to lure a 42-year-old man to a residence at Cherokee Apartments on Route 66-S south of Rogersville.

After the victim arrived, three males reportedly burst into the apartment wearing ski masks, beat him and stole $40 in cash and his phone.

The suspects then allegedly fled in the victim’s vehicle, which was later found wrecked.

What the four suspects didn’t know at the time was the parking lot of the apartment complex was under video surveillance, and the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office was able to identify them from that footage.

Douthat remains charged with robbery, as well as a separate, unrelated case involving charges of possession of meth with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is scheduled to appear in Hawkins County Criminal Court on Oct. 1.

The fourth suspect is Danny Ray Bledose, 34, 154 Cedar Hill Road, Rogersville, who is charged with robbery and scheduled to appear in Hawkins County Criminal Court on Aug. 30.
