BRISTOL, Tenn. — Police are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body in a lake on Thursday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Bristol Tennessee Police Department, it was found in the waters that separate Redstone and Middlebrook subdivisions. Both are located off King College Road.

At 12:18 p.m., a caller to dispatch reported that a body was floating in the area of the 300 block of Redstone Drive. Responding rescue personnel confirmed the claim and firefighters retrieved the body.

Authorities identified the victim as Dana Davis, 71, of Bristol, Tennessee.

Police say that although it is too early to determine the exact cause of Davis’ death, the incident appears to be an accident and there is nothing to indicate there is any danger to the residents of the Middlebrook or Redstone communities or the city at large.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Jared Patrick at (423) 989-5251or jpatrick@bristoltn.org.
