Crist's late field goal lifts Union over Graham

BLUEFIELD, Va. — In a heavyweight football battle of big plays, Union had one more than Graham.

The G-Men fought back from a 27-10 deficit but came up short in the final seconds, the Bears squeaking out a 37-35 win on Friday night at Mitchell Stadium on the leg of kicker Koby Crist.

On its winning drive, Union converted four first downs and set up for a 22-yard field goal with two seconds remaining in the game. Crist’s kick went through the goalposts, but a Graham offside penalty negated the score. Crist set up for another try, this one from 21 yards, and the kick went right down the middle.

Devin Lester passed for 328 yards and rushed for 98 for the G-Men (2-2). Union (4-0) got 193 yards on the ground from Mason Polier, and the passing attack produced another 134 yards.
