“I started 14 years ago as a volunteer and have spent this time devoting my heart and soul to the young ladies at RCHS,” Hood said Friday in a statement on Twitter. “I was given the opportunity to give it a go as head coach seven years ago.
“I have been so blessed through the years with precious players, good parents, good help and amazing support.”
In the statement Hood said she is leaving the position to begin “helping in youth league basketball.” Her son will be playing youth basketball.
Hood also thanked her Lady Eagles players, present and past.
“For letting me coach them and push them, for letting me love them and sacrificing for something bigger than each of us individually, and for teaching me something new every single season,” she said.
