With the Titans trailing 7-6 in the fifth, Reed took the hill. During his four innings of work, he didn’t allow any hits or runs though he did issue five walks.
Starter Tanner Dingus fanned five, allowed two hits and five runs and walked five.
Tanner Collins pulled the Titans even at 7 with his RBI single in the sixth. The Titans pushed across two runs in the seventh when Corbin Kilgore and John Lane scored on an error for the 9-7 edge.
Mistakes plagued the Pioneers, who finished with eight errors.
Both teams managed only four hits. Caleb Yeary led Thomas Walker with two hits and an RBI.
Eastside 11, Castlewood 1
CASTLEWOOD — Eastside’s Nick Livingston and Nick Raymond each rapped out three hits and drove in a run in the Spartans’ Cumberland rout.
Will Stansberry had three RBIs while going 2-of-4. Peyton Pope also had two hits.
Pope tossed the first four innings, striking out six and walking five. He allowed five hits and a run in earning the win.
John Battle 10, Lee 3
BRISTOL, Va. — Dylan Cunningham went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Trojans to the Mountain 7 District win.
Cunningham was part of a 13-hit assault that also saw John Battle’s Landon Moore go 2-of-2 with three RBIs. Trojans Zane Poe, Eli Todd, and Garrett Bowman had two hits each.
Caleb Coleman finished with a pair of hits for Lee.
Bowman threw a complete game and struck out six. He allowed six hits, three runs and three walks.
Gate City 14, Ridgeview 2
CLINTWOOD — Ryan Jessee went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored to power the Blue Devils to a six-inning Mountain 7 victory over the Wolfpack.
Josh Rucevice was 3-for-3 with a pair of walks, also driving in a run and scoring twice. Jake Taylor had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for Gate City, which outhit Ridgeview 15-4.
Taylor surrendered two runs, one earned, and three hits in combining on the four-hitter with Jessee.
Mason Jones had two hits and drove in a run for the Wolfpack.
DISTRICT 1-AA TOURNAMENT
Sullivan East 4, Unicoi County 3
JOHNSON CITY — Perry Casaday hit a screaming line drive to left-center field with the bases loaded for a walk-off three-run double to lift the Patriots into the losers’ bracket final of the District 1-AA tournament.
Sullivan East (16-13) advanced to play Sullivan South (19-11) in the losers’ bracket final Wednesday at 5 p.m. A berth in next week’s region tournament will be on the line.
The winner advances into the championship round of the district against Elizabethton (23-7) at approximately 8 p.m.

JOHNSON CITY — The Cyclones broke the scoreless battle in the bottom of the sixth.
With one out, Karson Dillard reached second base on an error. Jaden Anderson followed with a grounder to the right of South’s first baseman. He turned and threw back to the pitcher covering first base, but the ball got away and Dillard scored the game’s only run. The win was worth a berth in the region for the Cyclones (23-7).
The Rebels (19-10) face Sullivan East (16-13) in Wednesday’s losers’ bracket final at 5 p.m. Elizabethton awaits in the championship round.
Union 15, Wise Central 8
NORTON — Brooke Light homered three times, doubled and drove in a whopping eight runs to power the Lady Bears to the Mountain 7 road win.
Light and Marleigh Duncan each finished 4-for-5 and scored five runs apiece.
Olivia Basham was 2-for-3, including a home run, with three RBIs for the Lady Warriors, who were outhit 19-8 and stranded nine baserunners. Olivia Mullins also homered for Central.
There were nine total stolen bases in the game, two apiece by Duncan and teammate Emili Brooks.
Duncan also notched the win, striking out seven. Jill Sturgill took the loss.
Ridgeview 7, Gate City 2
GATE CITY — Ridgeview’s Nikole Counts struck out 13 batters over seven innings and the Lady Wolfpack earned their first softball win over the Lady Blue Devils.
Ridgeview’s L.J. Swiney went 2-for-2 and Brooke Frazier was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Sara Thompson finished 2-for-4 — both doubles — to lead Gate City.
Eastside 13, Castlewood 2
CASTLEWOOD — The Lady Spartans kept up their hit parade by hanging 18 hits on their Cumberland rivals to finish undefeated in district play.
Carrie Boyd and Taylor Perry were both 4-for-5 with three RBIs for Eastside. Tinley Hamilton finished with two hits and three RBIs, and Anna Whited also recorded two hits. Reiley McCoy came through with two RBIs.
Hamilton (3 innings, 2 hits, 1 run, 1 strikeout, 1 walk) and Liz Brac (4 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, 3 strikeouts, 2 walks) were stout in the circle.
John Battle 18, Lee 4
BEN HUR — After earning its 12th straight regular-season title Monday, John Battle kept things rolling with a dominating Mountain 7 win over the Generals.

Unicoi 8, Elizabethton 0
BLUFF CITY — Allee Griffith fired a two-hitter to lead the Lady Blue Devils (33-9) to the Region 1-AA tournament berth.
Unicoi County faces Sullivan East on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. needing to win twice to take the district title.
Elizabethton beat Sullivan South 5-2 earlier Tuesday to reach the losers’ bracket final.
DISTRICT 1-A TOURNAMENT
Unaka 12, University High 2, 5 innings
KINGSPORT — Lilie Kiser went 3-for-3 and Sadie Shoun was 3-for-4 in the Lady Rangers’ rout of the Lady Bucs in the winners’ bracket semifinals.
Shoun also drove in two runs and scored twice.
Emily Morgan and Carlie Bragg each went 2-for-3 to lead University High.
North Greene edged Cloudland 4-3 in the other semifinal then got past UH 5-4 in the losers’ bracket semifinal to keep its season alive.

GATE CITY — With just five minutes remaining in the match, the Blue Devils’ Andrew Pendleton connected on a goal to secure the Mountain 7 victory.
Levi Rhoton assisted on the game-winning goal.
John Battle 7, Lee High 1
BRISTOL, Va. — Dakota Worley recorded a hat trick to lead the Trojans to the Mountain 7 win.
Worley tallied all three goals in the first half.

University High 6, Hampton 0
JOHNSON CITY — The Bucs did all of their scoring before halftime to move into Thursday’s championship match.
University High’s half-dozen goals were among five players, with Moses Rathbun netting two.
Malachi Heath added a goal and an assist, Will Owen, Bracken Burns and Andrew Jarvis scored a goal apiece. Walker Page also had an assist.
The Bucs (14-3) recorded their eighth shutout of the year. They will host Chuckey-Doak, a 3-0 winner over West Greene in the other semifinal match, in the tournament final.
Gate City 8, Ridgeview 0
GATE CITY — Abby Williams found the back of the net for two goals and tallied two assists in the Lady Blue Devils’ mercy-rule Mountain 7 win.
Amanda Vermillion recorded two goals and an assist, Jamie Watts also had two goals and Ashley Carter completed the scoring.
Gate City keeper Kaitlyn Parton recorded a pair of saves.
Wise Central 6, Union 0
BIG STONE GAP — Lauren Webb and Lauren Mulkey had two goals each for the Lady Warriors.
Amalia Nylen and Taylor Gentry each had a goal and Isabella Sturgill and Mary Studermann both had two assists each. Webb also tallied an assis.
Central’s boys fell 2-1 to Union.

Turner totaled four goals.
