The Mets came unraveled in the last two innings, allowing Danville to tie the game in the top of the ninth and score two runs in the 10th.

The Mets (17-16) scored once in the home half of the 10th and had the bases loaded with two outs. But Danville (17-17) was able to get out of the jam with a lazy fly ball to left field to end the game.

Kingsport was 3-for-15 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base.

It did not take long for Kingsport to get the first two runs of the game. The Mets were able to manufacture the first run of the evening with a leadoff bunt single by Yoel Romero. Luis Santana followed with a double down the left field line that got Romero to third.

Shervyen Newton then hit a grounder back to the pitcher that scored Romero. Domingo Martinez singled in the next at-bat and Santana scored from third.

Brett Langhorne led off the top of the fourth with a single to center, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Ricardo Rodriguez drew a walk in the next at-bat. Griffin Benson came to the plate and hit a moonshot of a home run to right center that scored Rodriguez and Langhorne, and Danville led 3-2.

After conceding the lead in the fourth, the Mets were able to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth on a Ranfy Adon solo homer to left center.

In the bottom of the seventh, Gavin Garay and Guillermo Granadillo drew walks and advanced on a wild pitch by Bradey Welsh. Romero hit a sacrifice fly to give Kingsport the lead back at 4-3.

After Danville tied the game at 4, Garay brought in Domingo Martinez with a single in the bottom of the eighth.

Danville tied the game again in the top of the ninth with a Nicholas Shumpert solo homer to center field that bounced off the top of the wall.

Henry Quintero had an RBI single in the top of the 10th, and the Braves were able to add an important insurance run.

The Mets and Braves will play the finale of the three-game series Thursday with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
