The bride is the daughter of Tony and Karen Bryant Valk of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of the late Ivan and Kathryn Bryant of Kingsport, Sarah Valk of Kingsport, and the late Auke Valk of Kingsport. The groom is the son of Danny and Mary Caldwell of Kingsport, and the grandson of the late Rudy and Betty Rutherford of Orlando, Fla., Ada Caldwell of Kingsport, and the late Clarence Caldwell of Kingsport.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father.
Juliana Valk, sister of the bride, of Kingsport was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miranda Burt and Ariane Burt, cousins of the bride, of Knoxville; and Sara Gilliland of Knoxville, Amanda Greer of Kingsport, and Kim Richards of Washington, D.C., all friends of the bride. Flower girls were Natalee McMurray and Caroline Conkin, cousins of the bride, of Kingsport.
Adam Caldwell of Kingsport served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Valk, brother of the bride, of Kingsport; and Joel Hein of Gray, Wes Corneilson of Kingsport, Jason Malone of Kingsport, and Brandon Jackson of Kingsport, all friends of the groom. Zeke Claman, cousin of the bride, of Kingsport was ring bearer.
A special reading was given by April Caldwell, sister of the groom. Kim Richards, friend of the bride, performed a clarinet solo.
A reception was held at The Millstone.
The bride graduated from Sullivan South High School and received a bachelor’s degree in international studies and Spanish from Maryville College. She is employed at Keller Williams Realty, Chattanooga.
The bridegroom graduated from Sullivan South High School and received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Tennessee. He is employed as a chemical engineer at SCHOTT Gemtron Corp., Sweetwater, Tenn.
Following a wedding trip to Bali, Indonesia, the couple resides in Chattanooga.
